The Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism provides advice and policy support to the Australian Government regarding Australia's resources, energy and tourism sectors. The Department develops and delivers policies to increase Australia's international competitiveness, consistent with the principles of environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
Publications and reports
  • Budget and Additional Estimate Statements 2013–14
    Portfolio Budget Statements inform Senators and Members of Parliament of the proposed allocation of resources to government outcomes by agencies within the portfolio. Agencies receive resources from the annual appropriations acts, special appropriations (including standing appropriations and special accounts), and revenue from other sources.

  • Annual Report
    Our Annual Report is the Secretary's account to the Minister for Resources, Energy and Tourism of the performance and achievements of the Department and Geoscience Australia for the financial year.

  • Reporting requirements
    The Department has a various reporting requirements, which include the Senate Order on Agency Contracts listing, Continuing Order of the Senate, and reporting of grants.

  • Resource division publications
    Various publications produced by our Resources division, including the Minerals and Petroleum Explorations and Development Guide for Investors series, and the Leading Practice Sustainable Development Program handbooks.

  • Energy division publications
    Various publications produced by our Energy division, including registers, fact sheets and reports.

  • Tourism division publications
    Various publications produced by our Tourism division, including National Long-Term Tourism Strategy publications, Tourism Research Australia (TRA) publications and consumer information publications.
