About the Energy Sector Group

The Energy Sector Group (ESG) is part of the Trusted Information Sharing Network for Critical Infrastructure Resilience (TISN)—a larger forum in which the owners and operators of Australian critical infrastructure share information on all hazards and interdependencies between their sectors.

The ESG considers medium to long-term vulnerabilities to develop infrastructure and organisational resilience in the Australian energy sector. It includes representatives from the private sector, state and territory governments and Commonwealth agencies.

ESG meetings are currently held twice a year, with activities arising from discussions in these meetings continuing throughout the year.

How is RET involved?

The Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism (RET) is responsible for providing secretariat support to the ESG.
